**10 POINTS** How can I thin out my hair? And what kind of a haircut? **10 POINTS**?

I have thick wavy hair up to the middle of my back, and I want to thin it out. How do hairdressers do this??

My face canNOT take short hair because My face is super round, so it woudln't look good at all. Right now my hair is layered, but I want a change! I don't know what else to do though..any tips? I want my hair to still be a few inches below my shoulders, and my bangs to not be above my eyes, but any other suggestions are welcome!!

so questions:

1. how do hairdressers thin hair (and is it worth it??)

2. What kind of hairstyle should I get w/ the bangs (long hair/wavey)? Pictures would be GREAT!

10 points guaranteed! sorry this is so long..I'm really desperate for answers though!

Ask your hairdresser to thin your hair out.

I've had it done before, they just chop your hair on the side (I don't know how to explain it) but it just ends up looking thinner, but the length is still there.

And you should ask them to give you layers in your hair, and tell her to start out with 4 or 5 inches.

It loks great! My sister did the exact same thing and I want her hair so bad!

Also tell her/him to put waves in it.

um...use a straightner..and some good products.

i have the puffiest hair and I use Biosilk, get it a hair salon. It's amazing, and if u have a round face..don't get sidebangs..it'll look nasty. But I think u should scruch ur haircuz lyk..it helps hide the *roundness*

I dont know what kind of hairstyle you should get but I have EXTREMELY thick hair and my hair dresser uses thinning shears to thin my hair, your dresser should know what they are. She takes the bottom layer of my hair and clamps the shears on it and it removes some (not all ) of the hair to make it not noticeable and its TOTALLY worth it!

ask the hair dresser to thin it, they take random sections and chop it.

then its way easier to straighten.

its not like how it sounds, i promise.

i had a friend do it and shes much happier with it.

oh, and btw... shoulder to chin length hair is supposed to look the best oin a round face. XD

there gonna take your hair, and take a razor after cutting it, which is just like a little blade, not like an eletric one, and rub it up and down under neath and on top of your hair.

it will look, and feel thinner, but it will grow back a little thicker, and damaged. but if you keep getting it done it will look fine. I do it and it always looks good.

for you, i think you should cut it to shoulder length, with sidebangs on the left. you didnt give much detail, ie; color, skin tone, age, etc.

or something like that.

cut it off %26amp; give it to mee!!

my hair is so thin. :(

but i think what everyone said is about right, the thinning scissors, and light layers makes it look thinner.

**10 POINTS** How can I thin out my hair? And what kind of a haircut? **10 POINTS**?

you can flatten your hair with a flat iron and you should cut it shoulders length . from what i like

**10 POINTS** How can I thin out my hair? And what kind of a haircut? **10 POINTS**?

To thin hair, they use thinning shears. It's worth trying because if you don't like it, it'll grow back, and if it looks great, it looks great. I'm not sure, but I think they also might not charge extra, and if they do it probably won't be all that more expensive.

I don't really know any good wavy hairstyles, except for the thing where you take some of the hair from the sides and pull that into a loose, low ponytail while the rest of your hair stays down.(I straighten my hair. If you want to consider that, I got my straightener for like $20 and it works pretty good. (It's a Revlon ceramic 1-inch.)

hair designer here do not have it thinned it will only be more wavy they use a razor or scissors but u do not want that done just straighten it or have a ladder down chemical applied to straighten it it works gr8 and then u touch up your new growth like every 3 months

**10 POINTS** How can I thin out my hair? And what kind of a haircut? **10 POINTS**?

Get a layered cut! It goes great with bangs! Ask the hairdresser to cut your hair with ALOT of layers starting from... [You choose - you can go from as short your eyes to your mouth/chin/etc]

Or you can go to your hair dress and ask them to thin your hair with thinning scissors/razors.

After that, you can straighten your hair every once and a while to make it appear even more thinner. [don't straighten it too much because that will damage your hair!]

My auntie she does hair. She would fringe it down the sides to take away some of the roundness of your face leave the bangs long. She would also take a pair of thinning shears and take out some of the thickness.. Good Luck

Use a straighener, Chi's are great for thinning, I have one and absolutley love it. Also consider growing out your layers. They can often make hair look poofy. If you really want layers, go for long ones, they create less of a 'poofing' effect. Also by products that de-friz, thin, or straighten. THe John Freida collection is good for that, I use it. Herbal Essences has great shampoo and it smells great.

They actually have these special scissors that thin hair. And yes, its very worth it! I have extremely thick hair, and I've gotten my hair thinned a few times and I love it! Go to myspace.com/mandyleigh07 and look at the pics. There is a folder called "New". At the end of it are some close up shots of right after the last time I got my hair thinned.

As for bangs, as long as they are longer bangs, going to the middle of your cheeks and framing your face, they should look good.

Hope this helps!

My daughter has natural curly thick hair and it was frizzy. I tried lots of different conditioners on it but nothing seemed to work. I took her to the hair dressers and the hair dresser thinned her hair out. It was done with scissors and her hair was no longer thick or frizzy. The hair dresser also had told me not to have it done with a razor because the hair will get thicker. I am not sure what kind of style you want. It is worth having your hair thinned out. I really don't know how hairdressers thin out your hair but it will be worth it in the end.

Voluminous Hair

If you're lucky enough to have thick tresses, try these ideas to keep them looking their best:

1. Watch hair length. When thick hair is cut between the ears and chin, it has a tendency to pouf out. Keep it either very short (think pixie) or longer than chin-length.

2. Layer strategically. A few layers cut into the ends of your hair can help you avoid a bell shape and keep hair swingy.

3. Try a bob. Thick hair has the bounce and natural movement that make a bob look modern.

4. Avoid thick bangs. When cut straight across your forehead, they can look cartoonish. Instead, wear fringier bangs swept to the side.

5. Go with your hair's natural texture. Thick hair often has a natural wave, so play it up by applying a mousse or gel and scrunching hair as you dry.

6. Try a ponytail. Your hair is the perfect texture for this style!

7. Shampoo daily. Thick hair is often resilient and strong, so it doesn't incur the damage and dryness from daily shampooing that more delicate hair does. Daily washing will keep thick hair shiny, too.

8. Condition just the ends. Because your hair is naturally strong and healthy, it needs just the tiniest bit of conditioner to keep ends supple.

9. Wear a headband. It looks glamorous, and stops hair with lots of body from becoming unruly.

10. Don't go too long. No matter how pretty your hair is, when it reaches your waist, it begins to look scraggly and dated. Keep it three to four inches below your shoulders at the most...
