my hair is VERY thick. I have gotton it thinned out at the hair dresser but it doeesnt seems to help. What can I do to make it thinner?

Layering works definitely. Also use a flat iron, and buy "no frizz" products like from TreSemme. A heat protector spray, no frizz cream, and mouse should do the trick. Put the heat protector in before straightening or blow drying, then the mousse right before placing the iron on your hair. Then put the no frizz cream all over your head.

I don't think I would feel comfortable thinning out my hair on my own. I would highly suggest going to another hair dresser or beauty/hair salon and ask them! Imo, because I would hate to see you do something to your hair and all your hair falls out or something crazy. You should consider of talking to an hairstylist, seriously. Also, find other ways to style your hair possibly look into trying different hair styles and products to tone down the look if you don't want it to look thick or poofy. I'm sure there is ways to work with thick hair other than putting excessive heat on it. Just talk to an hairsylist. Continue to search on here possibly on ways to help thick hair. You should look up topics on it! Maybe there is a shampoo or an hair product to put on your hair without putting heat on your hair especially!

keep having it thin it out and also get it layered (chopping layers are fun ^_^ and cute).. and if you want straight hair, if your ain't already use a straighter (not from a drug-store.. but like Sally beauty Supplys or some place like that) and it makes feel so much lighter...
