If you have straight hair you don't want your hair thinned out. If you have curly hair just put some long layers in it. My daughter often wanted her hair thinned out and she got it done quite often. Then one day we went to another stylist and she said when you thin your hair the pieces that were cut tend to flare out. That was a problem, it looked bad. So my daughter no longer does that to her hair and now she has no problems with it. She has some long layers and she looks great with it curly or straight. If it is too thick you just need something to tame it down. My daughter uses a gel in her hair when she wants to curl it and it tames down the frizz. It is LA Looks for curl. Or if you need to do more straightening to your hair use a flat iron. Good Luck!
