Do hair models need to be thin?

I read this ad in the newspaper where it said male and female models were needed for hair styling. It said that you must agree to have your hair cut and coloured. Do you think they would accept me even if I'm a bit on the overweight side? I mean it's not for publishing, I gather, just for practice, right? Do you think they plan to colour and cut hair in really wild styles and colors, or just normal, what's in style at the moment?

you do not need 2 be thin be a hair model but if u accept u would not have a say in the hair styles chosen

Weight don't matter they are looking for long hair so they can cut, color, style, make you look like a china doll. Color is in now and they want people that want different colors in their hair, (red, blue, green, yellow) all at the same time. Winter is coming so long hair will be in style, so they can put one side green, one red. top yellow and back blue. Don't be afraid, just don't get permanent colors.

i dont think that your weight makes a difference as its your hair and the style that they give you that will probably be photographed. There are times when the styles/colors have been wild and crazy depending on what kind of magaizine or hair show that its going to represent. The onlly thing you can do is if your arent quite sure find out what if anything is going to be done before you give a go ahead, other than that its good fun and a free new style. Enjoy the opportunity!

yeah they would accept you...like the person before me said be careful if you love your hair

If you agree to have your hair cut and coloured, then go for it! You do not have to be thin to be a hair model, especially in this case that it's not for publishing. My sister was a hair model for practice, and although she was thin, it was not essential. I'm not sure about your situation, but my sister's hair modelling experience were for hairdresser's apprentices (to practice before becoming qualified hairdressers) and they cut it into styles of the latest trend, ie, not the 'wild' styles and colours that you were worried about.

I don't think it's that kind of hair model. This is just for people to practice on, so what you look like or how much you weigh is irrelevant. If it was an advert for real hair models, ie the ones you see in hair magazines, then weight probably wouldn't be that much of an issue, considering it's your face and hair that is being photographed, not your body. HTH : )

I don't think it matters if you are thin or on the curvy side. They are only interested in teaching a specific Cut/Color with you being the model.

Your weight shouldnt affect you no matter what you do! If they cant accept you for what you are then they are crazy for discriminating you like that.

You need to call or go there and find out what styles they are goin for. It depends on the Stylists or whatever. So yeah Call and find out cause you dont want to come out with a Mullet or a Mohawk do ya?
