My boyfriends hair is beginning to thin......?

is their anything that will stop it from thinning more and or get thicker?

My boyfriends hair is beginning to thin......?

Assuming that your boyfriend is healthy and there are no underlying reasons for "abnormal" hair thinning, then he is suffering from plain old balding. For some men it can begin very early, even in their teens, with some losing most hair before graduation from high school. For most men however it is a gradual process that takes years.

With that said, there are lots of products out there that "claim" to prevent hair loss or say they will regrow hair, but there really isn't much that can be done, currently.

Rogaine and the generic which can be obtained over the counter at the pharmacy and grocery store, is the only chemical that has really shown any promise at all. I have used it in the past and work as a medical professional so I have some knowledge on the subject.

Unfortunately, Rogaine really only works on the top portion of the head, where the skin is thinnest. The front portion of the head has much thicker skin which doesn't allow the medication to absorb sufficiently. I actually obtained a prescription for an uncommon mixture that contained retin A, a mild acid, that basically burns the scap, slightly, allowing the medication to penetrate deeper. But you would be hard pressed to find this formulation and it has more side effects.

Rogaine does work but most men will only see a gradual increase of fine hair and not a lot of thick regrowth. If started early it could help slow down the thinning process, at least for the crown of the head.

Too long of a story already, but, take a look at his father, his brothers, other men in the family, if they have thinning hair, high hairlines, ect., then chances are that is where he is headed and there is little he can do. You just can't hide from family genetics.

The only decent prospect in the future is work in genetics that hopes to find a way to terminate the hormonal processes that lead to hair thinning.

I hope this has been helpful

Apply the white of a raw egg on the hair for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with a shampoo. A mixture of lemon juice and egg white and oil massage could also be used to strengthen the roots of

hair. More remedies at http://hairthinning.org/ will prevent further problems.

Hair loss is generally theorized to be an overproduction of testosterone. There are several remedies which are marketed to slow or reverse hair loss, but the results can be sketchy.

Why not just accept the fact and enjoy who you are? No one on this planet is "perfect", whatever that means. Be yourself and stop caring what other people think of you.
