How can I thicken up my hair? Its so thin and stringy, and hardly grows at all.?

MJ is right, prenatal vitamins make your hair thicker and healthier. It might take a few months, though.

In the meantime, you can buy clip-in hair extensions for extra length and body. Brands like Put On Pieces have real hair at reasonable prices.

the only thing that will actually thicken the hair is prenatal vitamins. Or you could use a product, but these don't actually thicken the hair, they just make it appear thicker. Try Sebastein "Double Body" hair treatment. It is a semi-permanent hair treatment that makes the hair feel and look thicker. Ask for it at a salon.

they have shampoo for fuller and thicker hair.. also try a cut to full it out, like a shorter flipped cut do give it dimension

I hate to say that long hair styles aren't for thin, fine haired gals. Ever since I cut mine shoulder length and got long layers it looks thicker because the lengths weight isn't dragging it down (used to be down to the middle of my back).

If you don't want to cut it all I can suggest is using a thickening shampoo (only use clear shampoo not creme), only use conditioner on the ends, light spray in conditioner is better. Use a volumizer/texturizer for thin hair on the roots, blow dry upside down and learn to love hot rollers, hairspray %26amp; teasing.

A heck of alot of work to do, %26amp; then once you step outside..... it droops! So your best bet is cutting it, upping your vitamins to strenghten it. The only alternative is probably micrografts to bulk up your hair.

Make sure you're getting regular trims, because that will definitely help with your hair's condition. Also, Nioxin brand hair products really helped me when I had thin, damaged hair. They're pricy but worth it. Pureology is a great brand too, check out their stuff for thinning hair. If you're looking at more of a drugstore budget, you can't beat Sunsilk Hairapy. Other than that, I really do suggest prenatal vitamins too!

there is a shampoo and conditioner system you can purchase only through a salon that is called Nioxin that strengthens your hair cuticles and makes them healthy so you hair can grow thicker and stronger! I have thin and fine hair and I use that and I am starting to see results! But it takes time. Also if you get your hair layered it will help your hair to look fuller!

try wearing wigs. i wear them all the time. their light comfortable and very stylish. i have a decent length hair, its just with a wig i can have any style i want without doing the styling damage to my own hair. go on line to blackexpressions.com they have great styles. and if your not of color theres a link for your type hair. and the wigs are very natural looking. alot of people dont even know. they just think i go to the salon a lot.

For thickening hair, you definitely want to go with Nexxus Diametress....awesome, awesome stuff. You have to leave the shampoo in for 3 minutes, though, but you can feel the difference immediately.

I would really try looking at wigs! There are so many out there in every style and color, and if you get a synthetic hair one they can be pretty reasonably priced, although you can't style those like normal hair. If you get a real hair wig, you can style it just like you would your own hair and they look fabulous :)

you could create an illusion. wear your hair into many plaits overnight. in the morning add lemon(1 spoon)+water to them. if your are going to wah your hair in the morning, add the lemon directly into your hair and comb it. do this everyday and you'll see the change overtime.
