Help with thin, limp hair please!?

Whats the best shampoo to get some volume in your hair?

The one thing I do do for my hair that makes a difference is get a body perm for some lift and use Neutrogena shampoo every 2 weeks to strip the product from it.

The products today seem to coat the hair, which is the worst thing for it, but being as it is thin we need to condition the heck out of it. No win there, unless you use Infusium 23 leave in condition.

Do not use Gel, use Mousse, and only apply it at the roots. Use as little hairspray as possible, all of that weighs the hair down.

Good luck, HTH, it aint easy being thin and limp like us LOL

Ask your doctor about prenatal vitamins. I hear that they will make your hair grow think! I'm a man so I have never tried them.

There are no 'miracle' shampoos. More expensive isn't always better, They are all made differently and it will vary what works or doesn;t work with your hair type. The most important thing is how you blow dry your hair. Use a large round brush. This will create the effect you want much easier than a simple shampoo.

The key is to lift the roots. Select a section of hair, roll it on a round brush and pull it in the opposite direction to the hair root so that the root is really lifted. Place the hair dryer above the hair and dry while keeping the hair dryer moving. Repeat this around the top, back and sides.

I alternate between Matrix Body Double, Nexus Diametress and Umberto Volumizing Shampoo, mixed with a touch of conditioning shampoo since the volumizing ones tend to "rough" your hair up. For additional pump use Umberto Volumizing Spray, let dry, then blow dry upside down.

My hair is unbelievably fine, thin and limp - and this works for me!

By the way, I tried Sunsilk bodifying shampoo, and it made my hair look thinner and limper than ever --- but the leave-in thickener actually does work! I palm some in before the spray.

Whatever you do, you don't want a lot of conditioner. Conditioner weighs your hair down. I disagree- Pantene would not be the choice hair product for you. You need something lighter, perhaps Suave, Herbal Essences, or L'Oreal. I highly suggest that before you buy a shampoo or conditioner, that you read what it's for.

You would need to look for:

"For thin hair"

If you get products that say "for dry hair" then you'll know that it will be extra conditioner-y and you don't want that.

Hope this helped!
