A lighter color will make it appear thicker because it will blend more with your scalp. A dark color will make it obvious if your scalp shows through.

Permanent color makes your hair physically thicker. It blows up the cuticle of the hair (the developer forces the cuticle to open) and your hair will look and feel thicker for a few weeks. I color my hair just for the thickening effects.

check out this product called "XFusion" you don't have to dye your hair. Find your matching hair color %26amp; sprinkle it on your head. It really does work; I've seen it. I think you can even order it on line.

Dark brown will make it seem the thickest. Black makes the thinning very visible-as well as blonde. Medium brown is okay.

Hope I helped-
