My hair is thin and dry?

how can i make my hair thicker and stronger

My hair is thin and dry?

Pour 1-2 drops of safflower oil on your palms and rub them together. The quantity should be enough to let your hands glitter in the light. Carefully take your hair when dry and apply a small quantity of oil to the ends initially and then work your way to the scalp. Let it remain in your hair.

My hair is thin and dry?

Technically you can't really make your hair thicker, because it is what it is genetically made to be. But you can enhance it with thickening shampoos and stuff.

For strength, keep it trimmed up or try garniers length and strength line.

fertiliser

My hair is thin and dry?

I hate to say it but egg yokes make your hair thicker. But I wouldn't want to put that in my hair.

Olive oil is good to put in your hair. Put it in your hair with a heated towel over your hair.

My hair is thin and dry?

There are products on the market,so try them, but do not hold out for any hope.

My hair is thin and dry?

I have had my hair go through a lot. I made an appointment with a hair dresser. my hair was breaking, frizzing, and I was losing some hair in specific places! I spoke to her about it and the goals I had for a hair style. She told me it would be a process and she could help. I am happy to say my hair is better than it has ever been in my life!

My hair is thin and dry?

Get more keratin in your diet? Hair and nails are made of keratin

My hair is thin and dry?

Your hair is 97% protein and as such requires a very good diet. Your hair alone requires the equivalent ammount of protein found in one chicken breast every day, the other body functions require their ammount too so keep up your protein intake and watch out for quick slimming diets, these leave a fault in the hair at the root about a month later it is now out of the scalp and is liable to break. If you are female during your monthly's make sure you eat well as your body loss shows in your hair and again can cause breakage. Check for broken hair.

Hair is not dry, it is rough. Each strand of hair is covered in millions of cuticles which become abraided, or rough, when you use a alkaline shampoo. Whatever you use, shampoo rinses etc still use them but allways finish off with a rinse of vinegar water. White wine and apple cider for blondes, red wine for auburn ordinary for brown and white wine for grey.

This will reacidify the hair and make it shiny and strong. Your hair and skin have a PH of 4.5 to 5.5. Water has a PH of 7 which is 400 times more alkaline than your hair and makes the cuticle swell, the vinegar left on the hair will smoothe that out. Dont rinse it off the smell goes quickly.

Natural products for thinning hair?

Do you know of any products for a male with thinning hair? I think Nioxin works well...but we would prefer something as natural as possible! Are any of these things on TV worth trying?

Thanks for your advice!

Natural products for thinning hair?

use big shampoo from LUSH!

Natural products for thinning hair?

Try this web-site my dear......and good luck.

Natural products for thinning hair?

olive oil works really well for me.

Natural products for thinning hair?

Nioxin doesn't' work if you are loosing your hair due to hereditary, it doesn't alter your hormones or chemical compounds of your hair. Nioxin is a scalp shampoo, it is made to clean out the clogged hair follicles and stimulate them for hair growth, yes it will work on some follicles but if the hair follicle is already dead there will be no result in it. The things on tv may or may not be worth trying, the work for some but don't work for others, its really a gamble. If it isn't hereditary, if he is on thyroid medication or taking something for his thyroid, Nioxin does help a little for that too, not a whole lot, same as if it was hereditary but taking another pill for it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

How to treat thinner hair?

just wondering because my hair is getting thinner and i would like to make it more thicker

How to treat thinner hair?

Hair extensions or hair gell.

How to treat thinner hair?

put textureizer (sp?) in it. it makes your hair seem more full and have more texture.

How to treat thinner hair?

Try Rogaine once in a while... that should work. Try not to use it often so your body wouldn't get use to it. A more natural way to cure thinning hair is olive oil. Warm it up and massage it lightly onto your scalp... and wait 30 minutes before you shower.

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours.

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

Hi there and many thanks for any help, it will be much appreciated.

I started taking Arimidex to prevent recurrence of breast cancer last year, having been finally declared post-menopausal and therefore able to migrate to this drug from Tamoxifen.

I was initially happy because I had been previously been very worried that Tamoxifen would harm my cardio-vascular system - I have high blood pressure and also there is a strong history of cardio-vascular disease in my family.

However, this far into taking Arimidex I am more than a bit disenchanted with the side effects, mainly because it is causing my hair to thin and become brittle but also because I am getting very achy knees (sorry, that's the best way I can describe them!).

I haven't been to see my GP because to be honest he'll probably just say, "Wouldn't you rather be alive than stop taking it?" Which, of course, is very true.

But if anyone has any hints re this please let me know - all answers greatly appreciated!

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

I know just how you feel. Even though I am not taking pills yet, I am still in treatment (chemo, after that rads ) my Oncologist "downplays" my issues too. Can't sleep and such, I actually go to my GP because she listens and helps with RX if she thinks it is going to help. Talk to another Doctor. The hormones all have side affects, but I really think that you can't be in pain for the time you have to take them . Hang in there !

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

Sounds like you are asking for medical advice. I am not a doctor, but I've heard of glucosamine and chondroitin (spelling) for knee problems.

There's been a bit written about essiac (esseac, and other spellings) with regard to cancer. There are no studies to back it up, but plenty of anecdotal testimonies. My step father took it during his chemo and radiation treatment for 4th stage throat cancer last year. He has been cancer-free for almost a year.

None of this is to be construed in any way as medical advice.

I just pass this along because it has helped some people I know personally.

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

First of all, get well! And how do I get well you ask? I got the answer!!! First of all, drugs have never helped anyone-they only kill you!!! As soon as people realize that and stop let the doctors drug them up the world will be a better place. Now, get the book by Evan Slawson called Sanctuary, read it, become energetically balanced and you will never be sick again, no matter what kind of disease you might have had. A large number of Actors and Actresses are on the program and recommended it highly!!! A product called "Therapro" is the best for thinning hair-I sell it at my Salon and have great results with it -your bad knees are probably side effects from your drugs. Once you being balanced and you get off them, your health will return!!! Good Luck-now get the book, you'll thank me! Dr. Jackson

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

I recently had breast cancer, surgery and mammosite radiation. The Oncologist told me to take Arimidex for five years. He said there were no serious side effects. I did my own research by reading all the trials on the Internet at Arimidex.com, talking to women who were taking the drug and asking about it on Yahoo. I was not impressed weighing the side effects vs actual results. I also could not find anything on trials that factored in women who chose not to participate in hormone therapy. The drug simply was compared to Tamoxifen patients. The side effects were too great for me and those were only the ones reported. Other women like yourself are telling me new things that I could not find at Arimidex. com which is the only company that produces this medication. The cost is about $17,000 for five years. The mortality results did not impress me and none of the trials included women who did not use hormone therapy of any type. I want the quality of my life. I feel with mammograms/sonograms every six months that I will have the advantage of knowing if the cancer returns at a very early stage when it can be treated. For me, I decided against Arimidex. You must make your own decision along with your doctor. I am not a medical professional. Good luck!

By the way...if this prevents cancer why is it not being used to prevent it in people who have not had the disease?.

Arimidex - please any ideas how to combat hair thinning and achy knees?

Firstly, let me comment on some of the answers posted here. Comments by littlerat are easy to ignore as his ignorance is pretty apparent. COments by jodie are more dangerous. She has read the trials of arimidex and concluded that it has no benifit. Is she an oncologist? Or is she a statistician? It takes 3 years of oncology fellowship to understand how to interpret these trials.

Regarding your specific issue of knee pain. Arimidex can cause bone loss (osteoporosis or osteopenia). You should talk to you oncologist to check you for this. If this is indeed the case, you will benifit from drugs like fosamax etc. Also i recoomed starting calcium and vitamin d supplemets to protect your bones and hair. If the pain in the knees is very severe, it may be you have some kind of arthritis, unrelated to fosamax.

Please discuss these with your oncologist and not GP. Most of the GPs have no idea about how to deal with cancer.

Stylist only please, I'm a 34 yr old guy takeing chemo and my hair is starting to thin what is a good style

I know you only wanted stylists to respond, but I just had to share my experience w/ you. Although my cousin is a stylist and totally refused to assist me when my hair was thinning from meds -- I wanted one thing ONLY. I shaved my head and kept it that way for a while; when it grew back, it grew in layers fast and thick as when I was a child. I'm female, now 40; this took place about 4-7 yrs ago. I had thinning hair in 1980, from an auto accident -- shock. I was NOT going to watch my hair fall out by the handfuls again! TRY it.

How can I prevent thinning hair?

I am a 21 year old black male, my hair was always thick and wavy and now I can still see my scalp when I grow it out for a couple of weeks. what bothers me is that it's comeable with a thin comb yet I can see scalp, the waves are there, but expecially in the back upper part of my head I can see my scalp. Do I just need to keep growing it out? Or am I really thinning and what do I do to prevent this? I have used texturizers in the past, and I brush it frequently, I use doogro and other moisturizers. furthermore, when I get a shape-up, I can feel the barber shaping my hairline on further up places of my hairline. I know I shouldnt dwell on my appearance. and I stress out alot. But does anyone know how to help this situation? I believe in order to feel good, you have to look good. I've always looked good, I dont want to NOT

How can I prevent thinning hair?

Found this article...hope you can find it useful

How can I prevent thinning hair?

My husband uses a generic Rogaine (Equate Walmart brand) with good results. This is not a cure but rather slows down the hair loss. Also, are you on any meds that cause hair loss? Are you getting proper nutrition? I would stop the texturizers, as chemicals can cause hair loss. About 60+ years ago, (before Rogaine) my father tried absolutely everything possible to save his hair. He wasn't able to save his hair and ended up losing a lot of $$ instead, so don't get too wrapped up in the schemes that are out there.

From a female point of view, it is not such a big deal. I have seen several men who are drop dead gorgeous and bald. However, you are 21 and it does bother you, so give the Rogaine a try. Lay off chemicals. Condition your hair. Be gentle with your hair and good luck!

How can I prevent thinning hair?

well sorry im sure it was cool in high school

I have really curly hair and i straighten it everyday...its really thin...help?

i have beautiful blonde curly hair, just the problem is, it takes a lot of work and time... so i just decided to straighten it everyday... the ends of my hair split like crazy and i have a handfull of hair in my hand by the time im done straightening it. i use hot oil treatments, moisturizing masks for your hair, etc... but nothing seems to help...

i would leave my hair curly, but i dont have time to style it every morning before school, i would much rather just put it up, and leave the house...

do you have any inexpensive ways to keep my hair healthy?

I have really curly hair and i straighten it everyday...its really thin...help?

First you need to be using some kind of shine/protectant spray on your hair as you flat iron it. this will help any frizz and it keeps your hair from falling out. I also use Redkin's anti snap on my hair. I have went from a shower and sink full of hair to hardly any. My hair doesn't break anymore and it isn't falling out either. I also have very curly hair that I have chemically straightened every 6 months or so and I still have to flat iron it every day. If you can get away with it, only wash your hair every other day. Let it air dry if possible instead of blow drying. Blow drying helps with the straightening but it only puts that much more heat on already stressed hair. Good Luck

I have really curly hair and i straighten it everyday...its really thin...help?

I have curly hair and I straighten it all the time too...and yes, it does get thin...

My only suggestion is to stop straightening it so much. It's just gonna keep on getting thinner and thinner...it's better to make time to do it curly than have all your hair fall out.

Have it curly some days, straight others, or keep it straight for a few days before washing it.

I have really curly hair and i straighten it everyday...its really thin...help?

I have really thin hair too, but mine isn't curly. But my sister's is, and I know the perfect way to fix your problem...

After you take a shower, brush all the tangles out, then blow dry your hair upside down, do it until it is partially dry, which gives it volume. Then when your hair is almost dry, flip it over and take a round brush, and slowly blow dry your top layer, so as making the effect of straitening it.

I understand that it won't be completely strait, so take your straitener, and just fix a few spots.

It may take a little longer, but it will be worth it.

I like my hair to have volume and this works.

Have fun!!!

I have really curly hair and i straighten it everyday...its really thin...help?

I have curly and thin hair, too. I'm always pressed for time in the mornings, so what I do is put some gel in it, let it air dry while I put my makeup and clothes on, then blow dry it on a low setting to give it some lift. I don't dry it completely, though, because that causes it to become frizzy. Best of luck to you!

Do you beleive natural hair regrowth institutes that claim to regrow hair hold true?

I am a stylist and I have heard great things about the Nexxus VitaTress Thinning Hair Solutions program. It is a non-drug approach to regrowing hair. What it does is it creates the perfect environment on your scalp to grow hair. It attacks all 7 reasons for hair loss. Give it a try, I'm sure it is a lot safer and less exspensive!

vitamin e, and if you put your hair in ponytails try a loose pony so that won't pull and stretch your hair..good luck.. oh yea and try dr miracles it is not just for african americans, but don't use the grease just the shampoo and conditioner..i have seen that stuff work wonders on some bad heads!!! if you are using heat to style your hair get some hair products that work best when they are heat activated.. good luck

Please give me some instructions for a healthy hair. My hair is fallen. and it is so thin.?

Try not to use any styling products like hair dryers or curling irons if possible. There are shampoos and conditioners that are for thinning or damaged hair. I'd also recommend Redken products. I use Redken smoothing conditioner. Being on a healthy diet and making sure you are getting the right vitamins will make a big difference as well.

Please give me some instructions for a healthy hair. My hair is fallen. and it is so thin.?

Simple linda...............just improve your diet first ............eat lots n lots of fruits and veggies then the hair will glow from within'.no amount of oils will help you unless you eat well too.......avoid washingthe hair with harsh waters and shampoos too often

Please give me some instructions for a healthy hair. My hair is fallen. and it is so thin.?

A healthy diet rich in calcium would be a good start.

Please give me some instructions for a healthy hair. My hair is fallen. and it is so thin.?

Vitamins are essential for proper hair growth. For healthy sebum in the scalp we require vitamin A. Graying and loss of hair is arrested with the intake of Vitamin B6 and B12. Keratin is produced by Biotin and hair follicles are kept healthy by inositol. Panthothenic acid and Para-amino benzoic acids are also beneficial. These vitamins are present in fruits such as lemon, pineapple and strawberry and in vegetables such as potato.

i went to doctors.but they couldn't find a reason.what kind of shampoo should i use? or do you know a vegetal method?

My hair is so thin..and it is shedding day by day.what should 璋?do?

First of all, don't worry...I'm sure your still beautiful whether your hair is thick or thin. If you worry so much about it, your hair will fall even more. You need to take vitamins, and cod liver oil. Use a good shampoo and condition your hair everytime you go for a shower. Don't use hair appliances regularly because they'll damage your hair. Eat lots of fruit and veg, do regular exercise and drink lots of milk and water! good luck xxx

Are you getting enough protien? Sometimes lack of protien in the diet can cause hair loss. Since you went to the doctor I assume it isn't any medication you are taking. I'm sure shampoo wouldn't help, since it sounds like an internal problem. Good luck.

then morning wash it with shampooo

that is do it twice a week

have a nice day

My hair is so thin..and it is shedding day by day.what should 璋?do?

THERE YOU HAVE IT. it's shedding, so at least you're not going bald.

okay, well go back to the doctors, and take a CBC (complete blood count). You might have mild anemia the doctor missed, and that could be the reason for the hair falling.

try taking Iron Pills, and some calcium pills. (or eat red meat and drink tons of milk)

while doing all that, buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and put some on your hair (especially after you wash it, once it's dry, not when it's wet---if you use oil when your hair is wet you get split ends)

There is also this hair cream, the name of which i do not remember, and it works great to return hair which has shed away (it really really does, my sister used it, and in 2 months you could see all the hair growing back; it's not chemicals, it's natural..) Anyway I'll try and get the name of the hair cream by tonight, for sure. I'll add it on here when i edit (i just hope i remember!)

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

u cud try going in for a layered cut.... a proper hairstyle can make any kinda hair look its best. there are many shampoos in the market which are specially formulated to give body to limp hair...check out the ones which have panthenol in them. u cud even go in for highlights which give an illusion of volume. coloring one's hair also increases the width of the hair....choose watever suits u...hope that helps.

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

wash hair, lean over so head is upsidedown ish now blow dry it.

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

There really arent any products that help I have tried them all just blow dry the roots while your head is upside down and it will give you a form of volume.

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

well to add volume use mousse in your hair and when you dry it dry it upside down.. if your hair is straigh use a vent brush to help it in straightening out good... if you blowdry your hair with a round brush , what you need to do is instead of pulling the hair down with the brush.... pull it up and it should add volume... if you want curly hair with volume use a diffuser and blowdry your hair upside down.... if you dont like mousse use a root lifter... dont use gel or hairspray...it will weigh down your hair and crisp it(yuck)

GOOD LUCK :-)

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

Try Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo and conditioner! It really works! It smells good and it's cheap! It can be found pretty much anywhere!

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

I have the same problem - thin, fine hair. So - what has worked best for me is getting a perm, then using a curling blow-dryer brush to straighten it.

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

There is so many products in the store, go and have a look!

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

Do you like its present colour ? if not particularly have apermenat colour tratment it must be permanent because the ammonia and peroxide will a swell the hair shaft you need not got to drastic but if you apply different subtle colour shades tis will also give the impression of more hair .

Also their are quitew a few conditioners that attest to thickening the hair .

Dont forget to use the old fashioned egg youlk to put protoen bak into the hair and the beer rinse .

My hair is so flat and thin. How do i give it more body?

Well first, you should use volumizing shampoo %26amp; once you towel dry it you should spray in a volumizing leave-in conditioner. In addition, the way you blow dry it %26amp; style it makes a HuGe difference in the way it takes on volume. You should use a soft-bristled round brush and divide the hair into sections, then brush each section from root to tip and follow the brush with the blow dryer! This will automatically lifts the roots and gives it more volume (%26amp; also it will smooth out the hair so you won't have to use a flat iron on it, but I don't know if you do in the first place)! Also -- if your hair isn't grease-prone, I would limit your hair washing to once every other day. On the days that you don't wash it, you can experiment with other ways to wear your hair because cleanly washed hair doesn't hold as well -- this will take the emphasis off of the thinness %26amp; flatness of your hair when you just wear it straight and down -- try to put your hair in hot rollers or curl it with a curling iron -- or even try an up-do -- or maybe putting gel in it and scrunch it for a 'messy look' -- or even try braided pig tails!!! Good Luck!!

How to thin my hair?

Getting a Japanese Perm will help.

How to thin my hair?

a hairdresser can do it with thinning shears

How to thin my hair?

the best thing is probably layerin and featherin, like at the hair dressers and they do actually thin ya hair, mine used to be like rlli big but its easier 2 str8en now cuz i had it layerd :D xx

How to thin my hair?

Get your hair cut, and ask the lady to thin it out, they have special scissors. Just be thankful you have lots of hair, that means you have a better chance of keeping it when you are older.

How to thin my hair?

go to a hairdresser- if you ask them to do it, they can. maybe ask for layers?

How to thin my hair?

I heard too that Japanese perms work wonders but where do you get them at

How to thin my hair?

I think if you want to decrease the load if that is what you mean just trim or like completely cut your hair from the back bottom......that will make your hair look lighter...and i don't think there is any other way to thin your hair other than Japanese perm.......

How to thin my hair?

Get a razor cut at the salon. It really thins out your hair trust me I used to have like double the thickness that I do now.

How to thin my hair?

go to the hairdressers and tell them you want it thinned and they will make as thin as you like

good luck

xxx

How to thin my hair?

Go the Beauty parlor and ask them to thin it. That should work. Otherwise put nare on your head.

How to thin my hair?

Oh Lord please do not, I repeat NOT, try to thin your hair!!!

Trust me, I have thick hair too and people always compliment me, saying that they wish they had hair as thick as me.

When we get older (a lot older) people obviously start to loose their hair. But as we have thick hair, our hair will still be normal and we won't start going bald!!

I hated my hair too, but I started to get used to it, and now I love it.

Not many people have thick hair, and it's different.

But please promise me that you will not thin your hair!!

Having nice thick hair just makes your hair look even healthier.

But trust me, you might say you hate it now, but when you get older your gonna love it and thank me for telling you not to!!

lol

If you thin it out your gonna regret it

So please don't

How to thin my hair?

Get your hair done and ask the hairdresser to give you layers. Layering with make your hair much thinner. Also make sure you don't use any volumising products as these will add thickness. Hope I could help.

How to thin my hair?

Ask a stylist to thin your hair out. I must warn you...I hear thick hair is much easier to detangle, and my thick hair is almost impossible to detangle.

How to thin my hair?

Hey! I am totally agree with that answer where someone says you not to thin it out. I have very very thin hair, if you knew what kind of problems I have with it. Even if I wash it in the evening, the next day in the morning I have to wash it again, otherwise it looks like if it was washed 3 day ago. I have to get a perm to look prettier, also I curl my hair tips almost everyday after waishing %26amp; drying . Lots of work. So don't do it. I wish I could have such hair like yours.

How to thin my hair?

My advice would be to go to the hairdressers and have them thin your hair out for you ^_^

Anyone (male) take Dutas or Avodart for thinning hair?

I've been taking generic Avodart called Dutas (dutasteride) bought from Dr. Reddy's online pharmacy for nearly two years. My hair went through the normal shedding cycle, which told me it was working. It eventually stopped and my hair actually filled in pretty well. All of a sudden, a few weeks ago the shedding began again and there is once again noticeable thinning in the crown area. This is after two years when I thought it'd be over. The hairs falling out are thinner and finer than my "good" hairs, so maybe they are old DHT affected ones that are just now being replaced by new, "good" ones, or maybe the Dutas has stopped working and I'm losing what I gained over the past two years. Should I continue and wait it out, or stop taking the pills? Am I getting ripped off with bogus meds by some Indian online pharmacy?

Anyone (male) take Dutas or Avodart for thinning hair?

As far as I know the only proven systemic medication effective in stopping hair loss is Propecia. Propecia stops hair loss by interfering in the breakdown of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. Dihydro is what causes atrophy of the hair follicles. Testosterone is what creates the male type characteristics. So it stops hair loss without interfering in the action of testosterone on the body.

I'm 48 and have been taking it for 8 years. It has totally stopped all my hair loss. Don't know anything about Dutas but I would be skeptical of any drug not investigated by the FDA that makes claims of stopping hair loss. Traveling salesmen have been peddling snake oils for hundreds of years to sell to people who are willing to grasp for anything to deal with a problem that causes emotional pain.

My advice is to flush the Dutas down the toilet. Go see a dermatolgist and get on Propecia. IT WORKS! One word of warning. It ain't cheap. Probably about 50 to 60 bucks a month. FOREVER if you wan't to keep your hair forever.

Anyone (male) take Dutas or Avodart for thinning hair?

Sounds OK to me.

Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or

I have thin hair on top and somewhat thicker on the sides. I am not really considering the toupe (hair club) or hair plugs route, but feel free to comment on that too. My ex gf preferred it grown to about 2/10". Thanks!

Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or toupe?

Well, I think the most important thing is of course what makes YOU feel the best about yourself. That said, I totally prefer and appreciate a man who appears clean and smells good, too. Toupe' is a postive NO. I think that close cut is most attractive. I know lots of guys these days are going with the clean shaven look. I don't really have a problem with that, but SO many guys are doing that...I prefer someone who looks like he cares what he looks like, but not obsesses about it. Seems like the clean shaven look is a bit obsessive, or drastic. And not very original.

Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or toupe?

If you shave it clean, chances are its not growing back. I would keep it short.

A lady cut my hair for curly hair and i want my hair thinned!?

Ok so yesterday i told the lady that my hair is very curly and puffy and thick it is!! and i wanted it thinned and she said ok ill thin it some and cut into the curly girl haircut and now my hair is to my shoulders but my curls make my hair shrink up,and its frizzy and what styles should i do? anybody out there like me? All i wanted was my hair to be thin and not puffy i want to be liek other ppl ahhhhh!!! and i want my hair wear i can wear it straight and curly help me please thanks

A lady cut my hair for curly hair and i want my hair thinned!?

I have hair just like yours and I wanted to get my hair thinned too but the hairdresser said I shouldn't because then it would stick out at the top. The answer to this question is that your hair is never gonna be thin and if you want it to resemble being thin then get a really really good hair straightener and when it is straightened it becomes smoother and thinner than usual, so if you want to do that then get a sedu straightener off of folica.com. It is about $100 but it is worth the money and it works way better than the crappy $20 ones at cvs. Also, what helps make your hair less poofy is by not shampooing your hair too often, like only shampoo every four days but condition every day because shampoo takes out the natural oils in your hair and leaving them in longer will weigh your hair down. One more thing, if you really want to wear your hair down curly go to naturallycurly.com and they have some helpful tips and they have some good products there too, but they are sort of dumb because everywhere on their site it says embrace your curls blah blah blah dont wear it straight blah blah blah which is not really good advice but you should still give it a try. Hope this helps!

A lady cut my hair for curly hair and i want my hair thinned!?

I have that same hair. You don't want it to be thinned out if it is like mine cause it will make it puff more toward the top and the pieces that she thinned will stick out. Mine is to my shoulders right now and I hate it to but I just use some redken ant snap and gel and hairspray to keep it tamed down until it groes out. The longer it gets the better it is bout poofing. But remember to get layers not to short though.

A lady cut my hair for curly hair and i want my hair thinned!?

my cousin had the same problem my grandma had to go through her hair and thin it alot and then she went to a hair salon and the used this like straightener stuff that kept it like that for like 3 months

Hair Falling out!! Thinning %26amp; Hair Loss?

Good healthy hair starts with good internal health. Have you ever noticed people that look really healthy have nice shiny full heads of hair? If I were you I would go into your local guru in wholistic medicine and see what natural supplement the can offer for robust hair growth. I閳ユ獫e had success with a product called Provillus also.

Hair Falling out!! Thinning %26amp; Hair Loss?

Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Hair Falling out!! Thinning %26amp; Hair Loss?

Steps You can take to avoid hair loss:-

Wash your hair regularly in warm water and use a deep conditioner.

Eat a balanced diet. Nutritional deficiencies, eating disorders and excessive amounts of certain vitamins, such as A and E, can cause hair loss.

Take care of your health. Chronic illness, high fevers and infections can contribute to hair loss.

Stay away from harsh chemicals - permanent hair color and perms are the most damaging - and avoid coloring your hair more than once every six to eight weeks.

Avoid hairstyles like ponytails and cornrows, which stretch and pull hair.

Keep in mind that it's normal to lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day.

Consult your general physician or dermatologist regarding concerns about hair loss.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

my hair loss is not serious but is still there i used to have really thick hair as a child but it had somehow thinned out...and i have no idea why. i was told to eat things like weetabix and to oil my hair more often but im not quite sure nemore. and one other thing im under 20!

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

i used to have really thick hair until i had my baby that's when lost a lot of mine. its a hormonal thing and all depends on your diet and personal circumstances either you have been trough some stress or maybe your diet is not as good at the moment.

try olive oil, yes the one that you eat, or almond oil on your hair and apply this 2x to 3x a week massage it in to the roots and tie your hair in to a plait for at least 2 hours then wash your hair using a mild shampoo, baby shampoo is very mild, with cool water, and please try to keep away from your hair dryer and straightener if you use one,and towel dry your hair but don't brush your hair while it is wet as you will lose more hair this way and don't use any styling products as they make hair conditions worse and do more damage then anything else.

you can also get vitamins 'head high' from health shops which stops the hair from falling they are quite good and not very expensive.

also try to improve your diet and eat lot of almonds as this is good for hair and the brain and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and water and milk and fresh fruit juices to drink.

don't worry stress makes it worse.

hope all this helps good luck

*EDIT*

mrchulondon....well agree that its a hormonal problem but may be you should try google and type in oiling hair you will find a lot of information about oiling hair and its benefits and you will also see the evidence of oiling hair and how it can help thinning hair...so no its not a quack potion....

Having good hair oil is not enough, eating the right kind of food also helps. Harmful foods such as canned and processed food which do not protect your hair instead damage it, should not be eaten. Fresh coconut is very good for your hair.

For beautiful and strong hair, massage your scalp with hair oil and leave it overnight. You can also use a steamed towel to cover your hair for half an hour for best results. This gives your hair a shiny and lustrous look.

Oiling your hair everyday would be too much to ask for. But do this at least thrice a week for beautiful hair. It does make a lot of difference if you keep doing this regularly as it is bound to show on your hair.

The massaging and oiling of your hair stimulates the blood circulation, which in return helps your hair. Due to the oil your hair is protected from the strong and hot sun rays. The oil also gives your hair that extra shine.

Some of the most popular and very beneficial oils which are being used for beautiful long hair with indefinite good qualities are

Jojoba Oil - can be used for dry hair as it helps to moisturize your hair properly. It helps to soften your hair and can be used to detangle your hair before shampooing.

Almond Oil - almond will help thicken the hair and prevents premature graying. Also, almond oil is not greasy or sticky and so is a friendly massage tool.

Olive Oil - strengthens your hair and nourishes it due to inherent qualities it has. It helps to reduce stress and promotes the idea of healthy hair by providing elasticity to your hair.

Coconut Oil - is one of the oil which helps in the lubrication of the hair. The content in coconut oil like magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron happens to provide the best for your hair. It is very useful for damaged hair due to its ability to strengthen it.

Rosemary Herbal Oil - is very useful for the unwanted and flaky dandruff problems. Warm the oil slightly and apply it with the help of your fingers or cotton. Rub it well on the scalp and wrap with a hot towel.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

Stress makes it happen .

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

no but i hope the hair thinning passes it maybe to do with stress or a recent trauma in your life like a death, maybe you could try taking vitamins to make it grow and massage your scalp to stimulate hair growth. Hope this helps and hope your hair gets back to normal soon.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

look to your parents and gran parents...did they have this problem?

If not id seriously go ask the doctors advise...have you been put on any medication lately that has this side effect? I only ask cos I have taken antidepressants in the past that made me lose my body hair..lol...looked like a boiling chicken...!

Don't stress to much about it until you've ruled out all the silly things it could be..stress dosent help it!

Hope it all works out well in the end Hun.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

Try hair skin and nail vitamains from holland and barrets,i used to have thin hair untill i started taking these and they are really cheap

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

I was advised to grow old gracefully and I did, as well as growing bald gracefully. Theres worse things in life.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

You may have a hormone imbalance. See your doctor.

If you are female they can treat you.

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

Im 20 and my hair was always thin, but only started falling a few months ago, my parents told me it was a family genetics thing. Im also stressed all the time. is there anything i could do to thicken my hair and keep it strong

Does anyone suffer from hair loss and hair thinning?

topical hormone products are the only thing that will help with thinning hair, and even these may or may not work.there is a huge market for these and any number of companies will give you what you need.consult your chemist, ask about "regain" or the likes.

but the belief is that it is genetic, trggered by stress.

*EDIT*

i cant believe how many quack potions are coming up.there is NO evidence to support olive oil tea nettle or any other for that matter, as it is HORMONAL, to be treated with a topical hormone solutioN.Pharmaceutical companies invest millions into patents for this and if it were as simple as oil more people would have more hair.

baby shampoo is slightly alkaline so that eyes; which are also alkaline dont become sensitised during babys' shampoo.hair and skin is acidic. So baby shampoo has a caustic effect on this and is considered quiet damaging.

And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

Look for head and shoulders shampoo with Pyrithione Zinc 2%. The regular bottle comes with 1% but 2% is more effective.. Pyrithione Zinc is a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) blocker. DHT is usually the reason for falling hair.

You could also get the shampoo sold at http://www.minoxidil.com - it also contains a fairly power DHT blocker that will help you keep your hair. Minoxidil.com only sells one shampoo - however, you'll need an online consultation before you can purchase anything...

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

As someone with thin, fine, straight hair myself, sometimes it's easy to be envious of those with more body and curls. However, my suggestion is to embrace the your natural attributes...style isn't about just the hair though. Try researching in magazines and online and think about your face shape as well. You can do medium-long with a few long layers to add a little body; top it off with bangs. These can be longer, side sweeping, or go for a little shorter that you can bring forward or take to the side. Or, go for a shorter cut stacked in the back and chin length in the front where the bangs taper into the style.

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

Hi..my hair is exactly the same it sounds like. I have learned that shorter moer layered styles work well. Hope this helps you out.

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

You could do a punk rock style. Or you could do a layered holder cut.

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

I would say layers, lots of it.. flipped out would look fuller and cute... maybe even some long bangs with longer face frame..

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

do a Japanese straightening because it looks very pretty on you. or curl it because thin light hair are very easy to curl!

I have got thin, light and straight hair. What Hair styles can i go in for?

you can almost go for just about anything. you could do the sidesweep bangs, curle it. I have thin hair myself, but a lot of it, most of the time what i do is just leave it down with the sidesweep bangs and every now and then make the rest of my hair a bit wavyish. you could put it up into a messy bun or something and that looks real good as well.

Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

I'm 40, have 3 kids (9, 6, 3) and have noticed over the last 3-5 years my hair falling out and beginning to thin on top. This is extremely distressing to me and I'm worried to death about it. My thyroid is in check and I have no health problems that cause hair loss, so I don't know how to fix this problem. My ob said there's really nothing anyone, male or female, can do about thinning hair. It's just age, hormone, stress related. He said even Rogaine doesn't work or else we wouldn't still see bald men, much less women! Does anyone who has had this problem know any treatments that truly made a difference before I go spending tons of cash on a million products promising thicker hair. Mind you, I'm not bald or balding - I've just noticed a definite thinning on the crown of my head and have to carefully style my hair so that my scalp doesn't show.

Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

Applying warm coconut oil mixed with castor oil[2:1] ,left overnight and washed with herbal shampoo will help. Also try application of onion juice ,wash with mild shampoo/plain water after half an hour.

Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

I went to the Dermatologist, and he did a biopsy of my head. That will find out the root problem with the hair not growing or not growing in some spots. In my case, it was determine that I had dead hair follicles that will not grow back because of years of putting perms, and hair dyes, in my hair.

Don't waste your money, like I did going to places, that promise you thick and longer hair. There are none. I can tell you I waste, over $4,000 in some Laser Treatment that did not work.

Go to your Dermatologist, he or she will get to the root of the problem for you. There maybe some oil ointment, that you need a prescription for. It did not work for me, but you never know it may work for you. Depending on the problem.

Good Luck.

Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

Alrighty well..tell me what you think i could do with it..and how can I curl it WITHOUT a curling iron...thanks a bunch in advance!!!

I need some ways to style my hair..more info about my hair like the length, color, thick or thin etc..........

First of all, your highlights are awful. I would get it dyed, all one deep brown color. You should keep the length (cut off a couple of inches) and tell them to thin it. Then just get some layers around your face and I think it would look good. I think it would be better straight, but if you want to curl it without a curling iron, you can use rollers or if you want it wavy, you can braid it at night and sleep with wet braided hair, then take out the braids in the morning.

I need some ways to style my hair..more info about my hair like the length, color, thick or thin etc..........

You should go get some layers cut into it to take some weight off. Explain to the stylist you want to keep the length, though. I really think that'll help a lot with the poofy part. Try rolling it around Velcro roller, BIG ones, after a shower, and let it dry naturally or help it with a blow dryer on low. This will take a while, but if you want curls without an iron.... or you could put your hair in big, low, loose braids after a shower and take them down the next morning.

I need some ways to style my hair..more info about my hair like the length, color, thick or thin etc..........

i love the color, too!

it looks like the frizz is from breakage from an old, damaged brush or from using a brush on wet hair, or from ripping through your tangles.

to curl it without a curling iron will be difficult unless you have a bonnet dryer.

i can curl hair (someone else's - not my own - my arms aren't that flexible) with a flat iron.

rollerset it and spray with conditioning setting lotion and go under a hot dryer for about 45 minutes. once it's dry, finger comb it and scrub the rollermarks out with your fingers if you have any.

Solution for stress related female hair thinning?

Two years ago at age 34 I ended an abusive relationship in divorce, lost alot of money in the process, sold two businesses and moved. About a year later I noticed thinning hair which has been getting worse. I tried hair extensions for six months which mage the problem worse... hair was being pulled out. I have stopped that and am trying recovery solutions.

I am on high dose supplemetns including biotin and L-cystein, am relaxing and exercising, and eating protien and found a scalp treatment from medicsuticals which uses biotin and essential oils to stimulate hair growth cycel.

Do you have nay other ides on what to do that could help or how long it should be before results are realized on the treatment I am on?

Solution for stress related female hair thinning?

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

Hi. :) I just had this question considering that I've never dealed with bleach before when dyeing my hair, but now that I want to do a light cotton candy-ish pink, I'm thinking that I probably will have to bleach my hair. But then I heard about bleach making your hair fall out? Or become way way thinner? I would probably want to go to a salon versus doing it myself, would that make any difference? As a touch up I would maybe go once every two months. Please fill me in.

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

Yes, it makes it thinner. But only the part that was actually bleached. Whatever new hair you grow - they will be the same thickness as you always had. No, it doesn't make it fall out, unless you do the belaching incorrectly and cause a lot of damage to your scalp. What people often mistaken for falling out is their hair braking off at the root. It is also the result of incorrect bleaching: your hair is softer at the root, it hardens later as it grows. If you use the same bleach on the roots for the same amout of time as you use on the ends - the hair will brake off at the root.

Bleaching makes your hair dryer. If your hair is dry to begin with, it may be not such a good idea. If you hair is oily then you should do fine.

So yeah, have it professionally done.

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

it does make ur hair thinner so if u want it thinner then go 2 a salon or somthin use a straightner i guess...

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

when gwen stefani used to wear her hair in all those tiny little buns on top of her head it was because she didn't have any hair left after bleaching it so much.

Going to a salon is definitely the best way to go.

It just depends on how long you intend to keep your hair this way - i.e. how much you are going to be bleaching it because over a long period of time it's sure to happen.

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

IF YOU BLEACH IT A LOT THEN YES IT WILL FALL OUT BUT LIKE 2 TIMES NO

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

It depends on the type of condition your hair is in.. but yes, bleach can be damaging to hair in most cases. Be sure to keep the bleach away from your face and treat it with conditioning and care after bleaching. Too much fussing might exhaust it, so try to keep your hair healthy after bleaching! Choose a brand of pink dye that you can trust will treat your hair right.Good luck with the coloring after!

I hope this helps.. =]

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

You should go to a good salon. Definitely don't do it yourself since you want to bleach it. Bleaching doesn't actually make your hair fall out but it strips it and makes it very brittle so it could break off. The hair that grows back will be ok. Some people's hair can take alot more than others so yours may be able to handle it.

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

it burns it

but if you take proper precautions, it will be fine

alsoooo deep condition

it helps alot

Does bleaching your hair really make it thin/fall out?

yea it can if not done correctly

Although there are a number of good hair products - such as Rogaine - which actually slow down the process of hair lose. However, in the long run - no matter what you do - your boyfriend will eventually loose his hair.

What do you use to prevent thinning hair?

Try Nioxin. You can buy it in beauty supply stores or at a salon. It was made for chemo patients and then went on the market. But it takes a couple of months to notice the effect. but after that it's like wow. It's pretty expensive though. About $40.00 for the large bottle of the scalp therapy. I use it two or three times a week only because of the price and it works.

What do you use to prevent thinning hair?

There is a shampoo and conditioner that you can get in high end salons called Nioxin. It is usually sold as a package that comes with a foam like substance that actually helps hair growth continue. It's for early stages of balding. It works really well...I know several people who have used it - men and women. It takes approximately a month to see real results but it will help thinning hair to bulk up. Ask a hair dresser about which kind you should buy. They have kinds for regular hair and treated...etc. Like most kinds of shampoo. Try it out - it's a little pricy but if his hair is short like most guys just a dab will work to wash and it lasts months if you use it well. It's worth it though!

Each strand of hair has its own root. Think of it like grass. When you put plastic on grass it stops growing. The hat he wears is stopping the air from getting to the roots. Yes your hair follicle needs the air to keep growing. Also it could be genetic. Does his mothers father have a lot of hair, if not , then he'll probably lose his also.

My hair is REALLY fine/thin. What can I do to reduce static in my hair?

Spray the anti static spray for your clothes onto your comb and then comb your hair..sounds weird, but works great!

My hair is REALLY fine/thin. What can I do to reduce static in my hair?

a fabric softener sheet, gently rubbed over your hair will take the static out:)

My hair is REALLY fine/thin. What can I do to reduce static in my hair?

try a couple of these tricks. spray yer hair brush wit a lil hair spray let it dry but not all the way then use it or you can use a fabric softener sheet and run it over the top and underside of yer hair. if those ideas don't work try buying a can of static guard you can find it at wal-mart. i wouldn't spray it directly in your hair buy spray some in yer hands and run yer hands through yer hair. try to avoid any hair products that say they get rid of stactic because it will make yer hair look stringy.

My hair is REALLY fine/thin. What can I do to reduce static in my hair?

They make static-free brushes for very fine hair. You should be able to get one at any beauty supply store.
